East Vancouver, often referred to simply as “East Van,” is a diverse and vibrant part of Vancouver, British Columbia, known for its unique blend of cultures, artistic spirit, and strong sense of community. Located east of Main Street and stretching from the downtown core to neighborhoods like Mount Pleasant, Commercial Drive, and Hastings-Sunrise, East Van has long been a hub for immigrants, artists, and young families drawn to its eclectic charm and welcoming atmosphere.

East Vancouver retains much of its working-class identity and countercultural edge. The iconic “East Van Cross,” a public art installation, has become a symbol of pride for locals, representing the community’s resilience, independence, and dedication to preserving its roots. With its unique blend of cultural richness, creativity, and community spirit, East Vancouver is a dynamic neighborhood that celebrates both tradition and innovation, making it a compelling place to live, work, and visit.
This project was built by the owner with a simple yet beautiful design that invites to the front yard entrance. The residence is also a Design Studio called Blue Fish that works for residential interior design.
